Seminars on Saturday, 21 December 2019 in Kalamata and Kardamili, Greece

On Saturday 21st December two seminars for olive oil producers and olive millers will be organized by the Region of Peloponnese in Kalamata and Kardamili.

The morning seminar will be held in Kalamata and will be hosted by the Region of Peloponnese, Regional Unit of Messinia, with the assistance of the Medical Association of Messinia. This seminar will be focusing on the health benefits from consuming olive oil rich in polyphenols. The main speakers include guest speaker, Asst. Prof. Andrea Paola Rojas Gil, University of Peloponnese, as well as Assoc. Prof. Prokopios Magiatis and Dr. Eleni Melliou from the Dept. of Pharmacy, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (partner organisation). The seminar will aim to inform olive oil key players and medical professionals on the research behind the Aristoil projects, as well as the resulting recommendations, concerning cultivation and production. 

The afternoon seminar will be held in Kardamili town, which is situated in West Mani Municipal Unit. Olive oil producers, olive millers and other key players from the area will have an opportunity to learn about Aristoil project from the project’s coordinator, Dr. Nikos Krimnianiotis and gain knowledge concerning the health benefits of olive oil, as well as the proposed production methods, which may lead to a health-claim product.
