The International Conference on health claim olive oil as a functional food, will be hosted by project partner, the Region of Peloponnese and will take place in Athens, on Monday, 27th January 2020.
The main aim of this conference is to establish international cooperation and increase visibility on an international level for the ARISTOIL cluster. In addition, this conference will be means of promoting olive oil, as a functional food and a Mediterranean endemic crop. The target audience for this conference includes National and Regional Public Authorities, medical association representatives and olive oil key players from all countries participating in the project.
Event participants will have the opportunity to learn about current developments in the research field of health benefits associated with olive oil rich in polyphenols. In addition, conference participants will learn more about the innovative approach to olive oil production, developed by the research institution project partners, as a result of analysing thousands of olive oil samples from Greece, Croatia, Cyprus, Italy and Spain and training olive oil producers and olive millers. This undertaking was made possible through the co-financing of the European Regional Development Fund.
We hope that through the presentation of the activities, aims and scope of the ARISTOIL project, conference participants will learn more about how they can become involved and benefit from their involvement. The conference will be followed by the final Steering Committee meeting, which will be hosted by EGTC Efxini Poli in Athens in the afternoon of Monday, 27th January.
The agenda of the event includes speeches by representatives from national and regional authorities, internationally renowned scientists, specialists in the field of olive oil production and Interreg MED Aristoil project partners (please see the agenda for more information).
