Svimed Onlus organized a few days ago on 14th October 2018 in Ragusa a workshop entitled "Strategies, development and nutraceutical properties of extra virgin olive oil".
During the seminar, the spokesman of the Free Municipal Consortium of Ragusa, Giuseppe Cianciolo, presented the Interreg Med Aristoil project progress and Emilia Arrabito from Svimed explained the guidelines for a healthy and nutraceutical olive oil.
After these presentations, the nutritionist Daniela Diquattro highlighted the importance of extra virgin olive oil in the Mediterannean diet and the main characteristics of this olive oil that can be visible and easily identified by the consumers when they visit a supermarket.
Finally, the chef Giovanni Galesi showed the way to combine EVO oil with other foods aiming to enhance their taste.
The workshop ended with a tasting exhibition of extra virgin olive oils under the "DOP Monti Iblei" brand and of "Aristoil Family", including some olive oils that won the Olympia Health & Nutrition Awards in Athens.
